Summer Street Fashion
NYC
Tri-colored angled t-shirt coupled with ordinary red baseball hat worn backwards and high gives that prestigious much-coveted look of Seuss Tarboosh — (commonly known as Fez). Perhaps influenced by the current Cezanne drawing show MoMA Library. As you can see, the artist was fond of utterly bizarre configurations of items to create new narratives. Whether random selection was employed or intentional we do not know for either Cezanne or the fashion plate, but we’re gonna say not random.
And speaking of art-inspired fashion and odd pairings, two more trends spotted at #museumofmodernart
Numerous patrons were dressed to match Calder’s sculptures, currently featured in the outdoor cafe. But this group street performers went one better, the minor players in red and black moving away to allow the headliner in yellow to take the stage. A gorgeous example of transitional post-Covid meshing one of indoor/outdoor spaces offering a nod to social distancing.

And last, we have a trend that is surely here to stay, but is not yet fully named.
The fashion plate poses naturalistically and seemingly unaware (that part is key) against structures that either match, contrast or compliment their outfit, angles and overall attitude. Which one do YOU think wore this look the best?
